Karen Root

Karen is a seasoned legal professional with over 25 years of experience in corporate restructuring, corporate law, and accounting law. Since joining PwC Legal in 2016, Karen has engaged in numerous domestic and cross-border restructuring projects and provided legal services to entities across a wide spectrum of industries and sizes. She has led and managed complex restructuring initiatives, ensuring compliance with corporate and accounting laws.

Karen's skills include corporate restructuring, corporate law, accounting law, cross-border transactions, legal compliance, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Her primary practice area is corporate law. Karen has comprehensive experience in implementing complex business restructuring solutions and transforming the structures of group companies on a local and international scale. Karen devotes a significant part of her time to consulting activities, solving issues between shareholders, corporate governance, and other issues pertaining to commercial activities, as well as conducting legal due diligence of businesses. Karen was recognized by The Legal 500 for her expertise in corporate law and M&A in 2015 and 2016.

Prior to joining PwC Legal, Karen worked in the law firm KPMG Law.

She is a member of the Estonian Bar Association since 2014. From 2021 to 2023 Karen served as a member of the Estonian Bar's audit committee.
